Where the name comes from

And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent

At-Talaq 65:3 · Saheeh International

Tevekkül is trust in Allah, after you have done your part. Vakit is the appointed time, the word Turkish and Balkan Muslims use for each prayer. Put together: the hour of trust, six of them a day.

Six moments

One day, one changing sky.

Each moment begins and ends with your local prayer times. The sky in the app changes with it, so you feel the hour before you read a word.

Privacy

Quiet about you, too.

No account.

You never sign up. There is no login and no email to hand over. What you save stays on your phone and in your own iCloud.

Your location, plainly.

To work out prayer times, the app sends your approximate coordinates, rounded to about a kilometre, to a prayer-times service (Aladhan). Offline, it calculates them on the phone. You can say no and use approximate times.

No ads. No tracking across apps.

We do use anonymous analytics and crash reports (Firebase) to fix bugs and see which features are used. Nothing is sold, and nothing follows you into other apps.

Questions

Asked, and answered.

Is there a Qur’an widget for the iPhone Lock Screen?

Yes. Tevekkul Vakti puts the ayah for the moment you’re in on your Lock Screen (rectangular, circular and inline widgets), on your Home Screen and in StandBy. The widgets change by themselves when the next moment begins, so you never have to open the app. The Lock Screen and small Home Screen widgets are free; medium and large sizes come with Premium.

What is the ayah of the day, and how often does it change?

Instead of one daily ayah, your day is split into six moments around your local prayer times: Fajr, morning, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. Each moment has its own ayah, chosen for that hour, with a short reflection. So the ayah of the day changes six times a day, on its own.

Which ayah do I get at Fajr, Maghrib or Isha?

Each moment draws from verses chosen for its mood. Fajr is a new start, the morning is trusting Him with the day, Dhuhr is a pause in the middle, Asr is time and patience, Maghrib is gratitude as the light goes, and Isha is handing it over before sleep. If you tell the app how you feel, the ayat lean toward that too.

Is it in Turkish, Albanian, Indonesian and Arabic?

Yes. The app and its ayat come in English, Turkish, Albanian, Indonesian and Arabic, and you choose the language in Settings, whatever your phone is set to. In Turkish it’s your günün ayeti with the Diyanet Vakfı meal; in Albanian, ajeti i ditës with the translation by Sherif Ahmeti; in Indonesian, ayat hari ini with the Kementerian Agama RI translation.

Which Arabic text and translations do you use?

The Arabic is the Uthmani script in the Hafs reading (King Fahd Complex). English is Saheeh International, Turkish is Diyanet Vakfı, Indonesian is Kementerian Agama RI and Albanian is Sherif Ahmeti. A translation conveys the meaning; it is not the Qur’an itself.

Is it free? How does Premium work?

The app is free with no time limit: this moment’s ayah and reflection, its notification, the Lock Screen and small widgets, recitation, prayer times, Qibla, the calendar, tasbih and logging missed prayers. Premium comes two ways: yearly, starting with a 7-day free trial, or lifetime, paid once. Prices are set per country and shown in your currency in the App Store. You can cancel the yearly plan anytime in your Apple ID settings.

Can I listen to the recitation?

Yes, for free. Each ayah can be played verse by verse in the voice of Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary or Abdul Basit Abdul Samad. The audio comes from EveryAyah.com, and passages you have heard are kept on the phone so they replay offline.

Does it need my location?

Only to work out your prayer times, and only if you allow it. The app sends your approximate coordinates, rounded to about a kilometre, to a prayer-times service (Aladhan, with a backup) to calculate the times. Without a connection it calculates them on the phone instead. You can also skip location; the times are then approximate.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every ayah, translation and reflection is stored on the phone, notifications are scheduled on the phone, and prayer times fall back to an on-device calculation. Only new recitations and fresh prayer times need a connection.

Does it show ads or sell my data?

No ads, for anyone, free or Premium. No account and no tracking across other apps. We use anonymous analytics and crash reports (Firebase) to fix bugs and see which features are used.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Tevekkul Vakti is for iPhone, on iOS 17 or later.
